Please I want to know how many weeks it take for dubai employment visa to be ready? My company applied for the visa on the 10th of August 2014, which I was told is still being processed.

Could someone tell me how long this will take?

Hi there

The general rule of thumb for a Dubai visa is 7 working days (which excludes Fridays and Saturdays), but this is completely at the discretion of immigration authorities in Dubai, and it has been known to take longer.

While the wait can be frustrating, it is fairly common for this to happen.

Have a look at our Visas for Dubai and Work Permits for Dubai pages to get a good overview of the system.

Best of luck!

Can depend on your company, your job title, your free zone... Mine ended up taking six weeks last time round; previously it's been anything from two to four (I've had four, from two free zones and one mainland). Recently rules tightened up a lot more - I had previously never had had to have my UK degree certificate attested but did this time - and at great expense as I had to fast-track it. So would recommend you do this first to speed things up as much as you personally can. Have all your paperwork ready - and your passport photos (probably four to six in all)!
