Hi - I start a job in Lisbon in October and need to find somewhere for my wife, two sons (3 years and 4 months old) and I to live. We are moving from the UK.
Long term we hope to find a house outside of Lisbon, with a garden, close to the beach, where I can commute in from, daily. Can anyone suggest where would be suitable with good transport connections. My wife will have our car. Our rental budget will be around EURO 2000 per month. We also have 2 cats that we would like to bring from the UK, if possible.
Also, I am considering starting in Lisbon for 3-4 months, so we can get to know the city, can people also suggest a suitable area? My wife and I are 34.
Thanks in advance!
Guy

Thanks very much Tom!
For example Almada is very close to Lisbon and infrastructure is very developed, here are a lot of big commercial centers and shops.
Setubal is very cheap but it will take you around 30-40 minutes every day to Lisbon one way. But here are beaches and a huge natural park area, so it will be quiet and nice for first years of life in Portugal I guess with kids especially.
