Is health care free in Cyprus as in uk

Rianca on 7 Nov 2019 - 06:04

Hi Brian,

Public healthcare is only "free" for foreigners who are permanent residents or EU citizens. For those who meet the previous criteria, the Ministry of Health places patients into three categories based on income, chronic illness and number of children. Depending on these three factors, treatment can be either free, subsidised or not subsidised at all.

Are you an EU citizen? Or do you have permanent residence in Cyprus? You can have a look at our guide on Healthcare in Cyprus for other options and broader information.

Hope this helps.
