Hi we are hoping to move to the USA on a family visa to be near our daughter. We are both retired and are wondering about the type of Health Insurance we should get. Does Health insurance pay for monthly repeat prescriptions? We obviously want to make sure we are fully covered so any advice would be appreciated about the best Health Insurance to get. We hope to be living in Nashville Tennessee.

Hi Logres,

Deciding which health insurance policy to go for when moving to the USA is a pretty tough decision. There are lots of things you will need to factor in such as costs, the type of cover you require and if you have any existing health conditions.

I would suggest you take a look at this article on Understanding Health Insurance in the USA. It tackles a lot of the common questions expats have on the issue.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Good luck
