Hello, I am from Turkey, my husband will work in Jeddah. I graduated from the best university in Turkey. My department is business administration. Can ı work there as a woman or have my own company? Are workplaces mixed with women and men? Is it possible to find a position like manager, organizator, marketer etc.? And also, how about the work hours? Is it different for woman and man and how long? Thank you in advance.

hi turkey, yes you can work in jeddah,Saudi Arabia. there is no problem at all. and yes you work in mixed environment (men and women together). Regarding the title of your job it depends on the company you will work with, but in general yes you can be a manager if you are qualified. the working hours are the same for men and women, generally from 8a.m-5p.m or from 9a.m-6p.m, with one hour lunch break, depending on the company system. Jeddah is a really nice city to live in, with great sea activities, desert camping, huge shopping malls, endless delicious restaurants and cafes

Agree with the comment above me. The article need quoted in the answers, while informative, needs to make some clear distinctions. Which is: expatriate women versus women who are from Saudi Arabia. There are some key differences in what is expected, and what is enforced culturally. Expatriate women do not need permission to work from their male relatives. While you must wear an abaya, if you are not Muslim, you do not need to wear a hijab. I worked in a high level management position, and I was also a sponsor for my husband, who came with me. There are loopholes everywhere. For instance, there is a ban on driving for women, however, I drove quite often on the compound where I worked, and on other compounds as well. Off compound, I was provided a driver.
