What are best places to live in Singapore? I have two little girls, and if all things go according to plan they'll be attending the Singapore American School.

The best area for you would probably be Woodlands. Many families that send their kids to the Singapore American School choose this area for its convenience, not to mention, plenty of students from the school will be in close proximity to you. That said, Woodlands is in the north of Singapore and is a decent distance from the city. That doesn't mean it's out in the middle of nowhere though. The Causeway Point Mall is there, one of the largest in the city-state, and plenty of shops that actually cater to expats are in the vicinity. Plus, the MRT keeps you well connected with other areas of Singapore.

Hi. I am considering taking an apartment for rent on Mandalay road, off Baliester road. I've heard conflicting opinions about the area, so would appreciate any comments on the same. We are a young couple in our early 30s and prefer a location that has a supermarket and convenience stores close by. With Shaw Plaza right across the road it does seem like an ideal location. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
